Guidelines for submission

  1. 1. All abstracts must be submitted using online submission form. Abstracts submitted by mail or email will not be considered.
  2. 2. All abstracts must be presented in Oral/Poster session in English.
  3. 3. Please select your preferred presentation style and most applicable category listed below.
    Presentation style:
    • 1) Poster (first choice), Paper (second choice)
    • 2) Paper (first choice), Poster (second choice)
    • 3) Poster only

    • Prevalence, progression and risk factors (Clinical studies)
      - Epidemiology of Myopia and Myopic Shift in Refraction
      - Risk Factors for Myopia
    • Genetics
    • Animal Models and Biological Basis
    • Treatment (Clinical studies)
      - Pharmacological Approach and Potential Therapies
      - Optical Approaches
    • Accommodation/Binocular vision
    • Clinical trial consideration
    • Pathologic Myopia
    • Economics of Myopia- Practice Considerations, Costs and Business of Managing and Treating Myopia
    • Others
  4. 4. Please provide up to three (3) keywords (in order of importance to the study)
  5. 5. Authors are limited to 13 people (include presenting author) and author’s affiliations are limited to 5 institutions.
  6. 6. The first author is referred as a presenting author.
  7. 7. The abstract title is limited to 150 characters (approx.25 words) and the abstract text is limited to 1400 characters (approx.200 words.)
  8. 8. The abstract body should follow the structure of Purpose, Methods, Results, Conclusions.
  9. 9. The total number of characters including abstract body, author’s name(s) and affiliation(s) should not exceed 2300 characters.
  10. 10. Use halfwidth letters only. Please also follow the instructions on the submission form for describing superscript, subscript, or bold letters.
  11. 11. Abstracts should not include any diagrams, charts, or reference citations.
  12. 12. For changes and withdrawal of abstract, please log in with your ID and password by clicking "Abstract Submission" at the bottom of this page.
  13. 13. Please note that all abstracts will be peer reviewed.
  14. 14. Please note that clinical trials must contain details on the clinical trial registration.
  15. 15. Please select whether you have obtained an approval of the ethics committee, e.g. IRB, or if it is not necessary. This does not need to be stated in the abstract text.
  16. 16. Grant support must be acknowledged.
  17. 17. Commercial/Financial relationships and conflicts of interest must be disclosed.
  18. 18. One participant can submit one abstract as a presenting author.
    There is no restriction of abstract numbers of co-authors.

Notification of acceptance

  1. 1. The scientific committee will make the final decision on acceptance and presentation style of abstracts. Notification will be sent to presenting authors (=first authors) by the end of June, 2019.
  2. 2. Presenting authors of accepted abstracts are requested to complete their registration and payment by July 20, 2019.
    Presenters at the conference cannot select "One-day Registration". Please select "Full Conference Package" or "Students / Residents".

Please note that personal information collected via the submission system will not be used for purposes other than operating the 17th International Myopia Conference. Your information will be stored in controlled servers with limited access.
