Congress President
The 49th Annual Meeting of the Japan Shoulder Society
(Professor, Department of Bone and joint Reconstruction Surgery,
Tokyo Medical University)

I’m great pleasure to announce that the 49th Annual Meeting of the Japan Shoulder Society (JSS) will be held at PASIFICO Yokohama North (Kanagawa prefecture) on October 7th and 8th 2022.

The theme of the congress is “飛耳長目(four-character idioms)” –知見から実践へ-:“Sharp eyes and ears used for collecting information far and wide” - Conversion from knowledge to practice-, which is my great guide in whole life. I always believe that creating new something from various knowledge will lead to new evolution of the treatment of shoulder problems. Based on this theme, We are planning programs such as International symposiums, panel discussions, and special lectures.

This congress will invite six famous shoulder specialists, which each doctor has an invited lecture and is an International symposiast, and two KSES presidents who have KSES lecture. Especially, I’m planning two international symposiums. One is “Pathology and treatment for acute acromioclavicular joint dislocation”, the other is “Choice of anatomical hemi- or total SA or RSA for proximal humeral fractures”. We want every attendees, who are not only members of JSS but also come from foreign countries, to do active discussion without hesitation.

We convince that we will be able to discover new products and innovative solutions in exhibit room, and connect face-to face with top-rated faculty and colleagues to improve and advance the care for shoulder problems.

Also, this congress will provide free papers that will be presented by international guest speakers. It is predicted that it will be difficult to travel overseas due to the influence of COVID-19, but we are looking forward to having the honor to welcome you to the 49th Annual Meeting of Japan Shoulder Society.
