I would like to thank you for participating in the 3rd Asia Retina Congress which will be held in Yokohama. I am the President of this year’s ARC meeting. It’s a great honor to have this congress in Yokohama. This year the congress will be held at Pacifico North, which is the newest and best global conference center in Japan.
The congress originated from a Japan-Taiwan joint symposium and grew to become the Asia Retina Congress, involving retinal societies from Korea, Taiwan and Japan.
Unfortunately, we weren’t able to have the congress in person for the last 2 years due to Covid. So, we are thrilled to be able to have ARC this year for the first time since the initial inauguration.
Yokohama is the second largest city in Japan by population, and the biggest harbor city. The atmosphere in Yokohama is based around freedom, flexibility and tolerance. The city has recently been voted as the most desirable city to live in in Japan. Visitors are encouraged to enjoy the meeting, along with all the entertainment the city offers.
ARC aims to present scientific achievements, discuss trends in the field of retina, and enhance relationships between the countries involved. The program has been well organized by the director of program committee members, Prof. Susume Ishida, allowing us to know innovative technology and research from ARC.
We look forward to seeing everybody come together in person and enjoy lively discussions, as well as creating happy memories of our time together in Yokohama.
Thank you very much.
