We are pleased to announce that we will be hosting the 6th Asia Retina Congress (ARC).

The ARC is a conference jointly organized with the Retina Societies of South Korea and Taiwan, with the host country rotating annually among the three nations. We are deeply honored to be hosting this event in Tokyo this year.

In recent years, advances in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgery of retinal diseases have been remarkable, with progress occurring rapidly. In the field of diagnosis, AI-powered examination and imaging technologies have been introduced into clinical practice. In treatment, in addition to the emergence of new drugs, the adoption of biosimilars is also advancing. Furthermore, in the field of surgery, new techniques—such as heads-up surgery and minimally invasive procedures using small incision vitrectomy and high-speed vitreous cutters—are being established one after another.

Meanwhile, South Korea, Taiwan, and Japan are not only geographically close but also share many commonalities in their health insurance systems and the broader healthcare environment, and we face various shared challenges in retinal care. Against this backdrop, we believe that the three countries sharing the latest insights and engaging in frank exchanges of views on their respective experiences and challenges will be of great significance for the future development of retinal medicine.

For this conference, we have planned a program centered on a symposium for sharing cutting-edge insights in retinal care, where experts from the three countries can actively exchange information and engage in in-depth discussions on common challenges.

We hope that this ARC will not only serve as a venue for learning the latest knowledge and technologies but also as a meaningful opportunity to deepen cross-border exchanges, leading to the further development and collaboration of retinal care in Asia.
