Abstract Submission for English Session

Abstract Submission Period

From noon on April 1st (Wed) to noon on May 18th (Mon), 2026 (JST)

Application requirements

  1. First author and Co-authors must be a regular member or a student member except for foreign students and foreigners living abroad.
  2. Foreign students and foreigners living abroad are eligible to submit an application with a registration fee of 5,500 JPY without becoming a member of JANS. However, all authors, including co-authors, must pay the registration fee of 5,500JPY.
  3. One author can submit only one abstract as a first author for the oral or poster presentation.
  4. The abstract should not be presented at any conference prior to JANS46.
    However, research already published in academic journals may be submitted provided it has not been presented or registered at other conferences, and the journal name, title, issue number, and page numbers are included in the abstract.
    Please note that if it is discovered after the conference that you have presented the paper at another conference, we may make a public announcement to that effect.

Presentation format

Please choose one of the following:

  1. Oral presentation (English)

    10 minutes (8 minutes for Presentation, 2 minutes for Question & Answer)

  2. Poster (English)

    Presented on December 12th or 13th, 2026.

    During the presentation time, please stand in front of your poster and answer any questions from participants.

  3. Either Oral or Poster (English)
  4. Exchange Meeting (English)

    Presentations can be made in a variety of formats, including oral presentations, workshops, symposiums, technical demonstrations, etc. While sessions are generally held at the venue, group members can also participate online.

*All presentations must be written and presented in English.

*Authors may be asked to give a presentation in a format different from that they applied for.
The final decision will be made by the chair of the JANS46.

How to prepare an abstract

  1. Prepare an abstract in English with a title not exceeding 30 words and a body not exceeding 450 words. An abstract body contains all text (no tables or figures).
  2. Use headings as follows: [Purpose], [Methods], [Ethical Considerations] [Results], and [Discussions].
  3. Mention approval by research ethics committee or ethical considerations (excluding literature review studies).
  4. Proofread by a native speaker before registration.
  5. Co-authors should not exceed 20 authors from no more than 10 affiliations.

Conflict of Interest (COI)

All authors (including co-authors) who give a presentation or lecture at a scientific meeting of the Society are required to submit a conflict of interest (COI) declaration regarding their relationship with "companies, organizations or associations" as stipulated in 1.2) of this Bylaw with respect to such presentation.

  • If you are a non-member at the time of abstract submission, please declare COI through My Page after completing your membership application.
  • If you are foreign students and foreigners living abroad, please download and fill in the declaration form (Form 2), and submit it to the secretariat of Japan Academy of Nursing Science by email

  • Outstanding Oral Presentation Award
  • Outstanding Poster Presentation Award

The requirements to apply for the conference awards are as follows:

  1. The first author should be a regular member or a student member of Japan Academy of Nursing Science.
  2. The first authors may only apply once.
  3. When applying, please select the award that matches the presentation type you have chosen.
  4. Presentations that received JANS research grants, as well as those not presented on the day of the meeting, are not eligible for the Award.

*If your presentation preference is "English Session (Oral)," then you are eligible to apply for the "Outstanding Oral Presentation Award" only.

*If your presentation preference is "English Session (Poster)," you are eligible to apply for the "Outstanding Poster Presentation Award" only.

Awards ceremony

The top 1 or 2 winners will be honored.

We will select outstanding abstracts that demonstrate a high degree of originality and are expected to contribute to the advancement of nursing science.

Certificate and commemorative gift will be presented to each awardee.

(If the winners cannot attend the ceremony, they will be mailed after the meeting.)

Notification of acceptance

Abstracts will be peer-reviewed for appropriateness of structure, logical consistency, and research ethics.

The results of peer review will be sent by e-mail by the beginning of August 2026.

Final notification of acceptance will be sent by e-mail by the beginning of September 2026.

The presentation format and session will be decided by the JANS46. Please note that JANS may not be able to accommodate your requested presentation date and time.

At presentation:

  1. Oral presentation: It will be required to make disclosure of the state of COI and it should be stated on the page following the title slide.
  2. Poster presentation: It will be required to make disclosure of the state of COI and it should be stated at the right bottom of your poster.
  3. All speakers (including co-authors) must disclose any conflicts of interests.
  4. Please download the COI slide from the conference website.

Registration and payment

■For international students or international participants from overseas:

  1. Send a copy of a student ID card (for international students) or a copy of passport (for international participants from overseas) by e-mail.
  2. Pay a registration fee by cash on site (registration for a joint presenter is also required).

If you are not an international student or a foreigner residing overseas, please proceed to the registration page from the menu bar.
