The 20th Annual Congress of the Japanese Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare: Call for Submissions
We are seeking oral presenters for the English-Speaking Session of the 20th Annual Congress of the Japanese Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare. In the English-Speaking Session, both presentations and discussions will be conducted in English. Presentations must concern research into one of the eight healthcare-related topics listed below. To apply, please complete the application form. The abstract submitted as part of the application form will then be evaluated and will form the basis for the selection of prospective presenters.

Application Submission Period
The submission period for applications extends from April 1, 2025, to 12:00, May 20 (Thursday), 2025 (Japan Standard Time, UTC+9)
Submission Guidelines

If you submit in English, please download the application form (Microsoft Word file) below.
- AUTHORS–Lead (PRESENTING) AUTHOR–The lead author must also be the presenting author. The lead (presenting) author is expected to be responsible for registration and payment of the registration fee.
- Please provide an accurate email address for the lead (presenting) author. Abstract submission results and abstract-related correspondence will be sent to the lead author via this email.
- CO-AUTHOR(S)–A maximum of 9 co-authors are allowed for each abstract. Type in the names and affiliations for each author as you would like them to appear in published material.
- The title for the abstract should be no longer than 15 words.
- Contents of the Abstract (excluding title, authors, and affiliations) should include either one of the following sets of headings: ①Background, Objective, Intervention, Outcomes, Conclusion or ②Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion. The abstract must not exceed 300 words. Graphs, tables, images, and references should not be included in the abstract.
- Declaration of conflicts of interest is mandatory for all authors (See below for details).
- If the presentation requires ethical approval from the authors' institution, it is the authors' responsibility to obtain it. These do not need to be stated during the application process.
- Successfully submitted applications will be acknowledged with an email including an Identification number for the application. If you do not receive an email within three business days after submission, please contact the Secretariat by email at 20jsqsh@jtbcom.co.jp.
Declaration of Conflict of Interests at Abstract Submission
A declaration of conflicts of interest must be submitted as part of completing the application form. For the purposes of presenting at the 20th Annual Congress of the Japanese Society for Quality and Safety in Healthcare, conflicts of interest are defined below and any to have occurred within one year prior to applying must be declared.
At the oral presentation, the Lead (PRESENTING) AUTHOR's conflict of interest statement must be displayed on the slide immediately following the title slide.

Conflicts of Interest
- 1million yen or more of remuneration received in a single year for work as an officer or advisor of a company or for-profit organization.
- Receiving 1million yen or more in stock dividends in one year from a single company as compensation for work, or ownership of 5% or more of a company's stock.
- 1million yen or more in patent royalties received in one year from a single company or for-profit organization.
- Allowances received from a single company or for-profit organization to pay for researchers attending academic conferences (for the purposes of presentations, advice, etc.), lecture fees, etc. totaling 500,000yen or more in a single year.
- Manuscript fees (for writing pamphlets, etc.) received from a single company or for-profit organization totaling 500,000yen or more in a single year.
- An amount of scholarship (support) funding or donations totaling in excess of 2million yen paid to the declarant personally or to an affiliate over the course in one year from a single company, for-profit organization.
- Involvement in research or teaching supported by an endowment by a company or for-profit organization.
- Receiving travel expenses, gifts, etc. unrelated to research exceeding 50,000yen per year from a single company or for-profit organization.
Notification of acceptance/rejection
- Authors will be notified of acceptance or rejection in the middle of June 2025.
- Details such as presentation date and time, session name, and venue will be announced in September.
- The duration of each presentation is expected to be approximately 10-20 minutes, but this will be officially decided after the presenters have been finalized.
